IC Core Sheet

An IC card is a plastic card embedded with a large-scale integrated circuit, matching the dimensions of early magnetic stripe phone cards. It incorporates a microprocessor with capabilities for storage, encryption, and data processing, along with substantial memory storage capacity, embedded into a rigid plastic substrate similar in size to a credit card. Functioning as a modern information carrier, it can independently process and exchange data like a computer.

IC cards are categorized into three types: memory cards, smart cards with CPUs, and super smart cards with displays and keyboards.

Their advantages include substantial storage capacity, high security and confidentiality, and portability.
